Blackball Salami 2009


The Blackball Salami Company started as a family business in 1992 in the 'Stonehouse' (see logo), near Blackball on the West Coast. It was started in the kitchen, where recipes were tested and improved upon to produce the wonderful flavours now available

. In February 1999 the people in Blackball watched in horror as the business went up in smoke. It was a difficult time but every cloud has its silver lining and in its place has arisen the new, purpose built premises.

 

Phillip and Debbie Russ purchased the company in August 2009 having previously run their own business for 6 1/2 years.

Phillip is a qualified butcher and is enjoying being back in his trade and Debbie has the business experience.

Phillip and Debbie will continue to produce the wonderful salamis made the old fashioned way, by natural curing and wood smoking. The original and Venison salamis are 100% visual lean.

A complete variety of cooked sausages are produced ready for the table and for a welcome addition to anti-pasto dishes.

Their products are aimed at a niche market and have found a sound following among connoisseurs wherever they are available.
